Family Business Counseling
Family businesses have unique relationship dynamics that blur the boundaries between family and work relationships. Sometimes one member of a family business has personal problems that affect business stability and operations of the company. Just as personal issues occur in our families, they occur in a family business and need to be resolved, or at least stabilized so they can be dealt with over time. Management transitions, ownership conflict, employee conflict, economic changes and family disruption are among some of problems that can occur in family businesses.
At Isenberg & Associates and Dunham Counseling Center, we work with clients to see that the marital or family style fits with the organizational needs of the business. Our competence in this area stems from our years of experience working with other family businesses and a personal experience of owning businesses with other family members.
Both Jeff Larson and Shelly Isenberg have unique experience in family business consultation. Shelly brings his personal expertise in owning and operating a business with his spouse over 30 years. Shelly's clinical knowledge and understanding of relationship dynamics offers clients a wealth of knowledge on improving family/business relationships. Shelly has worked with many small family businesses over the years who have sought help with personal relationships conflicting with business relationships.
Jeff has years of personal experience in a number of a different types of family businesses. His background and clinical training combined with formal Master Degree in Organization Development gives him unique skills in group process interaction and understanding of how individuals handle the stressful interpersonal dynamics of family business relationships. Over the years, he has worked with a number of businesses and groups to help resolve conflicts and improve interaction in family businesses.
