Group Therapy
Group therapy is a recognized form of counseling which has proven helpful for those dealing with alcohol and substance abuse, relationship issues or with life transitions. Clients find group therapy to be a safe opportunity to talk with others experiencing similar problems. They may also experience personal growth in being helpful to others in the group. A trained group therapist guides the discussion so that group members can experience the growth and change they are seeking. Groups of up to eight people typically meet for one 1 ½ hours
Depending on client needs and community demand, Isenberg & Associates and Dunham Counseling Center offers group therapy on a variety of topics. Therapist-lead groups can be an informal and effective way to deal with life transitions and get support from others going through similar circumstances.
