Our Staff
Jeff and Laurie Larson are the co-owners of Dunham Counseling Center, Ltd. and Isenberg and Associates. For years, we have practiced in our offices in St. Charles and recently we expanded to include the practice of Isenberg & Associates as part of our group. We have a seasoned group of therapists who have earned a reputation for quality professional services for over 35 years.
Our group of Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors have specialties and advanced training in individual, couples, family, adolescent, addiction, group therapy and business group/family dynamics.
Our staff is experienced in helping to work out the problems of living. Each one of us is capable of listening and sorting out the real issues from the talk. We're known for actively engaging our clients in helpful and respectful ways.
We provide a full range of psychotherapy and consultation services at our offices in downtown Naperville and St. Charles. We often work closely with patients from nearby Linden Oaks at Edward Hospital and Central DuPage Hospital.
Naperville Office
Jeffrey Larson, MSW, MSOD, LCSW is President of Dunham Counseling Center, Ltd. and Isenberg & Associates. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and member of the National Association of Social Workers. Jeff has extensive experience conducting group facilitation and clinical therapy. He uses a variety of approaches to therapy including psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral and family systems interventions. His practice concentrates on working with individuals, families and adolescents. Jeff's philosophy includes offering practical approaches to families and parents working through the difficult times with adolescents. He has instructed the Kids in a Divorcing Society program for the Kane County Court and educational programs for school faculty and students. His background also includes a Master in Organization Development and significant experience in work-related coaching. He devotes much of his time to managing the practice but he is available to see clients in St. Charles and on a limited basis in Naperville. Member of Marriage Friendly Therapists and Good Therapy.
Jeff Lucas, LCPC, CADC has been a practicing counseling professional in the chemical dependence and mental health fields since 1986. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor, and a Certified Group Psychotherapist. With Isenberg and Associates since 2000 his full-time practice includes working with adults, couples, families and groups. He has specialized training and experience in the areas of the addictions, dual diagnosis issues, and visualization methods for personal/transpersonal development, EMDR for resolution of trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression, and group therapy for chemical dependence/substance abuse. Jeff often works with couples to overcome stress and conflict in the relationship. Jeff's view of people is that we have commonly held inherent values, which can be accessed in the here and now and regularly cultivated to facilitate personal and transpersonal development. He strives to facilitate his client's experience of themselves from within whatever perspective is most comfortable to them.
Jane Boumgarden, LCSW has been with Isenberg and Associates since 1997. Jane is a full-time Associate Professor of Social Work at Benedictine University since 1986. Jane has particular capacities for working with college students, the elderly and their families and women's issues. She has done much marriage counseling. As a clergyman's wife deeply involved in church community issues and clergy concerns, she welcomes opportunities to work with clergy spouses, career issues among clergy and their families and with the spiritual issues and specific church conflicts experienced by her clients. Jane is a compassionate therapist who understands Christian Counseling needs.
 Madiha Haroon, LMFT, LCPC, CADC, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor. She has been counseling individuals, couples, families and adolescents since 1998. She is clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Her main focus is working together with clients in restoring and enriching their personal private lives and their relationships by helping them to become proactive and empowered. Madiha enjoys helping parents with parenting dilemmas, enriching couple’s relationships, and helping adults through life transitions. She also has experience with alcohol and drug issues. She is very understanding of cross-cultural issues in life transitions and is bilingual in Urdu/Hindi. Madiha brings a unique understanding of Muslim Counseling and cultural concerns.
Krista Sherinian, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in practice since 1997.
Krista's practice concentrates on working with couples, young adults, adolescents and children. Krista brings a background in Holistic Methods of Treatment, such as Relaxation and Stress Management skills, Emotional Freedom Techniques and Cognitive-Behavioral methods to help clients manage behavioral impulses, anxieties, depression and syndromes such as ADHD, Bi-Polar Disorders.
Krista has a special interest in helping children of divorce and she has worked with children and teens, ages 6-21, at this office as well as five inpatient and community mental health centers.
She also enjoys working with women in transition due to career, child, and other life changes. Her approach to couples therapy blends strengths with personality type and tools to enhance communication and reduce conflict. She was trained in treating stress related illnesses and anxiety disorders by Bellaruth Naparstek, a nationally recognized expert in guided imagery (healthjourneys.com). She has an abiding interest in healthy living and managing nutritional influences on behavior and feeling. Krista has bi-lingual training and can offer all her services in Spanish. She is available for Medical and Psychiatric Interpretation.
John Carney, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker concentrating in individual, marital, adolescent and family counseling. He has over 30 years of experience working with adolescents, individuals and families in inpatient and outpatient treatment for a myriad of emotional and mental health issues. John has extensive experience and education in treating emotional issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and grief/loss trauma. He often works with individuals and families to help them learn to cope with acute and chronic stress. John has particular experience in treating adolescents and in marriage/ family counseling. He has worked with adolescents struggling with emotional, school-related, and behavioral problems in a variety of settings, including a youth advocacy program and a suburban high school. He has developed alcohol and drug education programs for students, and has been a featured speaker at seminars to assist parents in instituting appropriate disciplinary approaches for children and adolescents.

Marianne Tomlinson, LCPC is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Individual and Family Therapist. Marianne works with a variety of clients including couples, women and individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, women's issues, and career changes. Marianne works with clients to create practical tools and strategies to help then get back on track and forge ahead on life's journey. Her treatment approach includes discovering new perspectives and greater understanding of self, exploring choices and receiving support when facing life's transitions. She often works with couples to improve communication skills, resolve conflicts, negotiate differences and to learn to live a more satisfying life together. She understands that all relationships go through periods of ups and downs, but sometimes couples get stuck. Marianne will work to help you get back to a place of joy and fulfillment. Marianne is also a Certified Laughter Leader through the World Laughter Tour and works to prevent "hardening of the attitudes" by presenting Laughter Clubs to people of all ages.
Marcia Hill, LCPC is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with 20 years experience working with clients dealing with such issues as post traumatic stress disorder, addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma and family violence. Marcia has a special interest in working with individuals, couples and families dealing with alcohol and drug abuse issues. Marcia enjoys working with women, families, and couples in marital counseling. Marcia is a trained Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and can help individuals and families break free from the difficult addictions of alcohol and drugs. Marcia is also a Certified Domestic Violence Professional and as a Certified EMDR therapist. She utilizes these skills to assist clients to recover from life trauma, anxiety and post traumatic stress. Marcia works mostly in St. Charles office but she does have some availability in our Naperville location.
Laurie Larson, LCSW is Co-owner and a Clinical Social Worker at Dunham Counseling Center, Ltd. and Isenberg & Associates. She holds a Master of Social Work Degree from Loyola University-Chicago. Her practice focuses on the treatment of panic disorder, anxiety, depression and addiction. With over 18 years of experience, she has worked with both individuals and groups in both inpatient and outpatient treatment settings. She often treats individuals with panic and anxiety disorders and especially enjoys working with women issues. Laurie is currently not accepting new clients and has limited her practice to existing clients the St. Charles offices.
